Custom Fields

Administrators can create custom fields on the Patient object at the Hospital System level.

Prerequisite

The user's Role must include "Edit health system preferences" access.

Introduction

Custom fields are available to be displayed and filtered on the Patient list page.

Available Custom Fields include:

Short text entry field. Ideal for a few words or a phrase.

Label: display name
Default Value: value if user doesn't make an alternative entry
Placeholder: help text displayed in the entry field as a prompt to the user - helps them understand what to enter
Is Required: yes or no
Minimum Number of Characters: min char that can be entered
Maximum Number of Characters: max char that can be entered
Visible: display on screen: yes or no

Long text entry field. Ideal for multiple sentences.

Label: display name
Default Value: value if user doesn't make an alternative entry
Placeholder: help text displayed in the entry field as a prompt to the user - helps them understand what to enter
Is Required: yes or no
Minimum Number of Characters: min char that can be entered
Maximum Number of Characters: max char that can be entered
Visible: display on screen: yes or no

Single select (dropdown) with color options.

Label: display name
Values: options for the user to pick
- Note: once defined, values can be color-coded which is helpful in list views.
