Firmware Updates
Firmware updates will be installed automatically whenever available and the video device is powered on. It does not matter if the device is idle or actively monitoring a patient.
- When a device is ONLINE and a new update is available, it will automatically be downloaded to the video device. This will occur even if the device is being actively used for monitoring.
- When the download is complete, nothing will happen.
- The device simply waits until the next time it is power cycled. When this occurs, the new version will automatically be installed and used.
Administrators can see the current version and if an update is available on the Video Device list page.

- true = an update has already been downloaded and will be used when rebooted
- false = a new update has not been downloaded
Testing Video Devices
The Video Device edit page to allows Administrators to test Video Devices without creating Monitoring sessions. This feature is available if all of the following are true:
- The user has “test device permissions” enabled in their Role profile
- Video Device - Service Status = In Service
- Video Device - Device Type is not a Training video
- There is not an active patient monitor session
Video Profiles
There are several video profile options.
- Set only by LookDeep Administrator
- Set on a per video device basis
- Higher settings all require high bandwidth connectivity and/or an ethernet connection
- Higher settings enhance picture quality and zoom clarity
