Preferences
Your Hospital Preferences setting includes a few options that will be configured for you.
- Hospital Authentication URL: this is established at the time your org is set up. It can not be edited or changed.
- Hospital Logo: this will display in the top left of your org and on your login screen.
- Number of MRN Characters: enter the number of characters required for the MRN. This provides a validation rule for the required number of characters for the MRN field before it can be saved.
- Notify for Falls: select from active users who will receive and email notification in the event of a documented fall in the system. An email is triggered to these staff members when a user creates an Event or Alarm with these conditions:
- Event Type = Occurred
- Category = “Fall - Unassisted” or “Fall Assisted”
NOTE:
- This is a System-wide Alerts. Selected users will receive this email alert for any documented fall across the entire hospital system.
- To set recipient emails for a documented fall in a single hospital, use: Hospital > Hospitals Preferences
- Video Settings
- Video Visit Previews: This allows a virtual nurse/clinician to peek into a room without announcement or disturbing the patient prior to initiating a virtual knock. It prevents disrupting a sensitive situation (e.g., family visit or in-room procedure).
- Video Connection Interval: Within Central Monitoring when using the Video > Connect All option, this is the number of seconds the application will pause between opening each live video window. A small delay of 2-3 seconds allows for the videos to connect easily without stressing the network bandwidth.
- Video Metrics Interval: IT setting
- Alarm Management
- Alarm Confirmation Message: Default Alarm message for the hospital system. This message will be overridden if a different Alarm Message is set at the Hospital > Preferences level.
Attributes
Attributes are used as "tags" to associate with patients to help describe their condition. End users will be able to assign and update Attributes per patient. Your Attributes are yours to configure and there is no limit to the number of Attributes you can add. Typical Attributes include: Wandering, Fall Risk, Delirium, Elopement, Sundowner, etc.
To add a new Attribute, simply click the + Add Attribute in the top right corner.

Hospitals
The Hospital list includes all the Hospitals within your Hospital System which are configured for the LookDeep system. All Hospitals are added by LookDeep.
Edit a Hospital
As an Administrator, you have the ability to edit certain Hospital details.
This opens the Hospital Edit page.
- Hospital Name: adjust as needed
- Hospital Time/Zone: this is set during setup by LookDeep and can be changed on the backend if required.
- Description: adjust as needed
- Alarm Confirmation Message: the pop-up confirmation message displayed when the user hits the Alarm for a patient within this hospital. (Example: "‼️ Confirm Alarm ‼️ ") If no message is entered, the Hospital System Alarm Confirmation Message set by LookDeep will override.
- Nurse Call Integration: the type of Nurse Call integration being used. (ie Rauland HL7)
- ADT Code: this is used with the EHR integration
- Visiting Hours: used for the iOS application (Family Care Connect) to establish hospital-defined virtual visiting hours
- Color: unique visual indicator per hospital that is helpful throughout the application. Up to 27 color options are now available to help differentiate hospitals across a system. The color palette provides a varied distribution of colors offering the best distinction.
Views
Your Views list includes all Shared Views across the Hospital System. Individual users have the ability to share their Views with others however, sometimes the list of Shared Views becomes excessively large. This feature allows an Administrator to selectively move some Views off the Shared View list. The original owner will still have access and can reshare the View if needed.
