Connecting to Live Video Blocks
In this article
Introduction
The LookDeep Video Unit (LVU) must be online and available to connect to a patient. It will look like this, with a Green Wifi light and a Blue LED bar.
The LVU is ready for monitoring, and therefore, the Live Video block will provide a blue Connect button.
Devices Offline
If the LVU is not powered on (ie. it may have been unplugged), then you will see this informational message in the Live Video block.
Best practice is to confirm the camera is plugged in and the LED light is blue before attempting to connect. If the user still attempts to connect the camera in this state, they will receive a pop-up message.
Further attempts to Connect while the device is not ready will likely result in connection error messages.
When the LVU comes back online, the Live Video block will automatically update to allow the user to connect as normal
Best Practice
- If a device is showing offline, do not attempt to connect before confirming that the LVU is plugged in and the blue light bar is showing on the device
- Read error messages and solve any issues before attempting to reconnect the device to the patient
Connecting All Videos when Devices are Offline
The "Connect All Video" button will only attempt to connect to cameras that are properly powered on. It will skip those that are believed to be offline.
