Virtual Sitting - Best Practices

General

  • Always use a Chrome or Edge browser as these are the only certified browsers.
  • Always start LookDeep via the desktop icon
  • Desktop icon
  • Use the supplied microphone headset. Avoid using your own bluetooth headset or airpods.
  • Leave active Monitoring sessions running. Stopping an active monitoring session will not solve a video connection issue. Please consult the Troubleshooting Guide.
  • Review the Troubleshooting Guide in the binder and linked on the Home page

Shift Change Guidelines

  • Log into LookDeep Patient Central
  • Setup your View: a Shared View, your own Flex View or a custom View
  • Ensuring the correct number of patients
  • Arrange them on the screen as you desire
  • Familiarize yourself with each patient
    • Patient name
    • Reason for monitoring
    • Any clinical notes
    • Primary language
  • Get a verbal handoff report from the off going virtual monitor
    • It is essential to get a full debrief on all patients that you will be monitoring from the off-going virtual monitor. This information will augment your own familiarization with the patients. You are looking for information such as:
      • Patients that have required verbal interventions
      • Patients that have been inactive for an extended period of time
      • Any specific Events that occurred on the previous shift
